The book Hekate Her Sacred Fires is published by Avalonia, which is owned by the author and editor of the book Sorita d’Este.  There have been some queries and comments from some individuals who seem to think that Hekate Her Sacred Fires is a purely commercial endeveour and that there are a whole bunch of alterior motives involved, so this page is here for the sake of clarity – and also for those who are just plain interested (nosy!)!

Firstly, none of the 50 contributors have received any compensation (other than a complimentary copy of the book when it was first published) for the work they contributed to this volume.  That means none of the contributors have a vested financial interest in this project, none of them earn any royalties or benefit otherwise financially from the project. We simply have a vested interest in being passionate about the Goddess Hekate!

Sorita and the contributors have jointly made the decision to donate all the royalties earned by this book (once the original cost of production had been met) to different animal charities each year.  This has already resulted in a small donation in 2011 to a Badger Charity in the UK.

There has been comments about the thousands of ££ and $$ we have spent on this website … actually, it cost less than £20 a year to maintain, all design and technical work is done by Sorita herself. There is also no papal conspiracy, sorry to dissapoint – but if there is someone in the Vatican reading this, feel free to send us a huge donation, we suggest £333,333 333 , together with that stunning Chiaramonte statue of Hekate you have in your collection!  We will in turn tell you everything about what we do and use your money and statue to create a wonderful centre for the Goddess Hekate in 21st century Europe!
