Volunteer & Help !

The community spirit of the Rite of Her Sacred Fires is a unique experience in itself.  The event would not be possible if it was not for the enthusiasm and overwhelming positivity of the men and women who share a passion for the Goddess Hekate who participate in the Rite of Her Sacred Fires every year.  It is a community event, which brings people together in an act of devotion; overcoming language barriers, distance, cultural and even spiritual tradition barriers.  Each year new friendships are made, and we want to ensure that this will continue on into the future.  From 2012 the Covenant of Hekate which was set up as a result of the first Rite of Her Sacred Fires in 2010, will be hosting the event, but that does not mean that you have to be a member to help ensure the survival of this event!  Here are some ideas of how you can help:

1/ Organise an Event: — If you are already part of a spiritual or magical community in your local area in which the Goddess Hekate is recognised, consider organising an event to coincide with the event at the waxing full moon each year in May. This could be a small event with just a few friends, or a public event.  You don’t need permission for this, but if you do, let us know about it and send us photographs of the event / your shrine to share here so that others can take inspiration from it!

2/ Spread the World —  Let others know about the event!  You can post about it on your website, blog, social networking (ie. Facebook, Twitter etc), direct them to the relevant section on this website – ie. http://sacredfires.co.uk/the-rite-of-her-sacred-fires for more information.  You can also use one of these images to help raise awareness of this project – (see below).  Likewise, consider writing about it in your local pagan or magical magazines, journals or eZines, you are welcome to publish the text of the ritual (providing appropriate credits are given, and a link to this website is included for further information).  Again you do not need permission to do any of this, though of course we would love to know about it!

3/ Participate!  - It might sound simple, but by participating you are both contributing to and sharing in the event.  The majority of people join in the ritual as solitary (ie. by themselves) practitioners, but with the knowledge that thousands of others are also joining in this unique act.  You can share your experiences, questions – as well as photographs of your shrines, rituals and other Hekate related images on our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/hekatefires
